Morty the Christmas Elf

Jeanne, Morty's mom, sent me a picture of him in his Christmas elf outfit.  What a character he is!  Note his stylish red slippers.  If you're new to my blog, you'll have to go back to November and read the three posts about our quilt retreat.  No, it's not nearly as boring as people think, and Jeanne certainly livened things up this year.  Thanks for the great photo, Jeanne.

These are three of my Christmas presents.  I think Morty might be Morticia.  I've had lots of litters of kittens at my house, but this is my first litter of monkeys.  Through the miracle of the Internet, it took me 5 seconds to learn that a group of monkeys is called a troop.  So, I have my very own troop of monkeys.  They're about 5" tall and the same size as 3-day-old kittens.

The first one was given to me by Reba, one of our Tuesday guild gals who was at the retreat.  She also gave me a pair of actual socks that the monkeys are made from.  The same day I got it, Kathy, from my Wednesday girls came by with the blue one.  Then, my daughter Laura gave me the one with "Jessica."  The "Barb" ones were gone, so she got this one.  Thank you all for thinking of me.  But, I'm not starting a collection of sock monkey dolls.
